Here's a new one. I sure wish awesome coins would stop popping up when I shouldn't be spending. Look at how frosty Ms. Liberty looks!
Lincoln Proofs Through The Years Interesting seeing how the detail was slowly lost on Proof Lincolns from the early teens to the 1960's -- then a somewhat more cartoonish redesign was done in 1969 -- which leads to the sandblasted finish the last few years, devoid of much detail. I wish they would return to the beautifully-artistic and finely-detailed rendition that they were using 100 years ago. This is one case where newer was definitely not better and improved. 1915 (PCGS PR66BN) 1941 (PCGS PR64RB) 1955 (PCGS PR66RB) 1961 (PCGS PR67BN) 1972 (PCGS PR68RB) 1989 (PCGS PR68RB) 2004 (PCGS PR69RB) 2013 (PCGS PR68RB)
I got a SLQ Type 2 (non-recessed date) today!! Awesome toning and in Fatty Holder. Only downside, looks to be some mold growing on the label. This now completes my 3-coin SLQ min-Type Set. Here are the other two: Type 1) Type 3 (Type 2 + recessed date))
This really ought to be its own thread and then "featured" instead of burying it here. Very nice work!! Reminds me of this thread from another CT member: From Frost to Snakeskin™ -- US Proof Coins 2006-2010
