I got this seemingly random quarter out of a snack machine at work. When I went for a coke the only reason I didn't pop it back into the coke machine was I felt something on it. I started looking at it and it has a heart on the eagle. I tried to pick it off and can see no seam from bonding the two together. I have searched all over the internet to see if I could find anything about it with no luck. I'm sure it is some sort if novelty but I can't find out where from. Has any of you coin experts seen something like this before. Thank You, Blair
I just think it's a neat coin. And didn't know if this was a thing that people did. There is just no information that I can find on this kinda thing. I will get my wife's cannon out and take a good picture of it. Sorry for the picture quality.
This is obviously a post minting modification since the US Mint didn't have the technology in place to produce such an item in 1998 which was the last year that this specific reverse appeared on a Washington Quarter. While it may be cool to look at, its simply not an authentic US Mint modification.
Thank You guys for taking the time to look at it. I just had never seen one like it and countless searches have turned up nothing. I figured it was added I just wondered by who and what for.
About as good a i can get. If yall ever hear about places that do these add ons or modifications let me know. Thanks for all your time.
