I don't know about this one... what reverse feature do you believe this to be showing? Considering the placement and roughness of the outline, added to the apparent spot on the anomaly, I cannot help but to wonder if this is simply an oddly shaped artifact of corrosion.
I took more pictures. I noticed that that is a roundness below the triangle area. After turning it a few times, it may be my eyes, but it appears that there's a "D". The spot your talking about would be in the lower left corner of the "D". Doesn't appear to be corrosion, there is metal build up around this.
How can that PMD? That triangle area is raised, hard metal. If you look, you can see where the tip of it crosses and covers Lincoln shirt.
Then what do you suppose this spot is as it certainly looks to be corrosion from how the light plays off of it in more than one photo? Also, what part of the reverse design do you believe this anomaly to represent? Perhaps these will help... http://www.maddieclashes.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Clash-LC-1960b.jpg http://coinauctionshelp.com/ErrorCo...ent - Lincoln Memorial - Overlay Combined.jpg
You might get more technical and more appreciative comments in the error forum. I have nothing against you all I'm saying is an error discussion might be better off there. Just a suggestion .
well, try and figure out how you can get an obverse clash on the obverse of the coin and in one of the deepest recesses of the die...
Thank you all for your help. At this time, I'll just put this coin in my collection box until I can get a closer look at it. I do appreciate the help though.
