Augustus and Agrippa after the last great naval victory of antiquity. I've looked a long time for this coin. Special thanks to Doug for blessing this acquisition to my collection.
Nice!! Doug's definitely the go-to man on these. You've got everything you need on that coin: both busts, inscriptions, a full crocodile with a great, snarly expression, and even the chain. Well-done!
It has wonderful details! One of these days I want to get a good one-- something like yours which clearly shows the chain.
And that's why it's good to have a Doug! And it's good to have a John Anthony who endorsed this purchase. Not that I'm afraid to take responsibility. I just got no con-fi-dinks!
I thought so too! Look at the blow up of the reverse.....I think it's amazing! Like the horses are coming through the sands of time!
Oh sorry => and great croc-addition ... Ummm, I would show mine, but everytime I get more and more depressed about my coin's "lack-of face" ... *sigh* Ehh, but I still love this coin, so let 'er buck, right?!! (right!) ... don't worry faceless-croc-boy, I still love you ...
Wow, two very nice coins... Well done! The croc coin is a particularly nice choice. Mine has more problems than yours.
You would have to post a pretty decrepit example of this type for me to not like it. I like them all, problems not withstanding, even the halved ones. Short of spending a thousand bucks on a pristine example, just do what Doug does: buy a drawer-full of them to get all the details.
What a bunch of croc... idile Nice coins everyone, every time I look through these threads I add a new coin to my want list.
