Trying to break down a substantial collection of my fathers and have about$25.00 FV of 1940's and 1950's Wheat pennies. Do they have any value to a dealer, or should I run them through my coin counter and just take them to the bank?

It's extremely common to sell wheaties in lots of various sizes on eBay for a small premium. They're often advertised as "unsearched," although that's probably not true in the vast majority of cases. Do you have the time and energy to search through them for certain more valuable coins, or are you just trying to get rid of them as fast as possible?

circulated wheaties can be sold to a wholesaler for .02 a coin which is a 100 percent gain from face value

Just trying to get rid of them as easily as possible. I have over 1,000 pounds of coins to sort through and convert. My Dad hoarded so many coins. Lots of rolled and loose coins. Some proof sets which I can research, but the vast majority is just pounds of coins.

This is my first post and I am a complete newby. What is a wholesaler and where would I find one? I literally have a pallet of coins, of ALL kinds. As an example, he had over 1,000 Susan B. Anthony dollars!!! Trying to unload all of this stuff.

A wholesaler is your typical brick and mortar coin dealer that you'll find in your area. Susan B Anthony dollars are generally worth nothing more than face value, the only exception would be if they are a part of a special coin set. PM me so we can go over what you got.

DKenny, thanks for your help on this. I can PM you when I get some form of inventory put together. There are proof sets, mint sets, individual coin sleeves by the hundreds, maybe 75 blue book coin holders, etc. I am trying to get the rolled and loose coins out of the collection and banked, then will concentrate on the stuff that might have some value. When I get the stuff laid out in the coming week or two will grab a photo or two and send a rough list to you. Really appreciate your help and opinions. Thanks again!
