http://www.coinnews.net/2014/10/15/2015-us-marshals-service-coins-graded-by-ngc/ Foul and vile I say. What say you?
The US Mint is nothing but a greedy, money-grubbing, POS organization. I apologize for not saying what I really think! Chris
I agree it is wrong. Just like the argument someone brought up about minting coins from previous years with those previous years on it. (if someone wants to find the thread so be it, i don't have the time right now). Coins should only be released during the year produced on the coin. Although, in 1975 they released the 1976 bicentennial in the proof set, does this fall under the same category?
I actually do not mind it in this case, you can not buy one. They just made a few to 'show' the flag during the organizations celebration. No big deal....publicity is the key.
The bicentennial coins released into circulation also started in 1975, I remember getting a half dollar in change as a small kid and wondering why it was dated 1776-1976.
The potential for monetary gain remains........ Why'd those guys get 'em slabbed? Preservation? I think not.......
Hey everybody! Wake up and smell the manure. After the Mint screwed everyone on the 50th Anniversary Kennedy's (releasing them at the ANA Show), now they're pulling another fast one. When is everyone going to realize that it doesn't matter if they stab you in the back or blow your brains out, you're still just as dead. Chris
I bought a 2014 Maple Leaf in 2013 before the Mint's official release date. NGC & PCGS refused to grade it. By the time I was back in the US, the "First Release" submission period had passed, even though I was back stateside on 2 Jan.
Bad day for collecting Chris. Most ashamed , and especialy since my collecting endevour involves commems. Not Happy!
