Just received this coin today. Extremely happy with it and thought I should do a guess the grade. Good luck!
Pics are a little hard to tell , but I'll say 64+ to 65+. I really like the color on her . Nice pick up .
Glad you like it I know it's hard to tell from the pics, but there are virtually no marks on the cheek and what looks like hits is just toning. I'm new to photography and I'm having trouble taking photos that actually look like the coin In hand, the coin looks exactly like the first pic, which was taken by the seller.
The coin is very lustrous, it's just the pictures that make it seem otherwise. Here is a quick shot I took that shows its luster.
tough to judge from the pictures. In many of the pictures, the luster does not shine threw. On a couple I can see some luster, but not much. Looks fairly clean of contact marks, but it's tough to see the real surfaces of the coin.
The luster doesn't shine through in most of the pictures because I am using a ring light. The lamp I usually use is broken and all I have left is the ring light, which doesn't show luster. In the photos where you see a little bit of luster, that is because I stopped using the ring light and I had no lamps. In hand, the luster is booming.
MS 65, as TPGs are very hard on that date. Normally, I would say 66, but I know they bust hard on 1881s and 1882s.
Toss up between 65 and 66 for me, but I'm leaning toward 65 because of the marks behind the head on the obverse
Ahhh - at least 1 other person has eyes That coin, with those marks, no way it should be a 65 let alone anything higher. But rather obviously, other opinions differ. Big surprise that
