The diameter of a Lincoln is exactly 19mm. On a Buffalo, the distance from the bottom of the words "Five Cents" to the top of the letters "ES" in States is also 19mm; in both cases, we are talking measurements along the diameters of undamaged coins. Therefore, on a true error, unless the planchet was totally squashed (which it doesn't appear to be), you should see no portion of the design or rim that normally occurs above the top and below the bottom wording on a Buffalo nickel. Not an error. The item may have been copper-plated for good measure.
Please follow up this thread when the coin comes back either in a slab (unlikely but possible) or in a body bag (likely) unless you submit to one of the companies mila sends coins to.
Profit man , what is the diameter and weight of the coin please. If a person pays $250 for an error coin, they would certainly have proof. Give me some useable info or I will consider a troll ~ a person who starts discord on the forum by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, or messages with no basis in an online community. If it is real, congratulations, but I share the belief it is not, come on, contribute. Thanks Jim
*points* *nelson laugh* ... In all seriousness though, I hope you are joking. If not, return the thing.
Environmental discoloration. Similar to all the "missing clad layer" pieces we see that are just ground recovered coins.
Good thing that profit man made all that cash in silver. Apparently he will need it to finance coin buys like this one.
