I've had this for over 25 years. It was used as a plate coin (image # 3) in R. Tomaska's, "Cameo & Brilliant Proof Coinage of the 1950 to 1970 Era".

I only own two as of this point. I try not to keep any for my collection, but just to invest through silver coin. The worn one I got at melt. The uncirculated Franklin I paid $0.47 over melt! The uncirculated also includes some toning on the obverse and reverse. Excuse my pictures being sideways. Not sure what happened.

Thank you for your kind comments! It's a 65FBL. I got a group of 6 slabbed envelope toned Franklins 6ish years ago. This was one of them, the others were 1953, 1959, 1961, 1962 and 1963. The '50 and '53 were 65FBL, the other 4 were MS65.

    Here's the 1953.

As with the Washington quarter Dansco set I'm putting together, this Dansco set of toner Franklins is NOT meant to be a killer set of coins. That's what I have my slabbed Registry set for. This is just meant to be a fun set of toner Franklins to plug into a Dansco. I'm having a LOT of fun putting it together for not much money in the grand scheme of things. Of course like all coin junkies, I've now started a second Dansco (and just bought a third) for the coins that have been switched from this album as I've found different looks over time. In any case, here are the 1952 PDS Franklins for the album. The images are by Bob Campbell and I think he did an excellent job.
