I haven't gone through the entire thing yet so I'm not sure what it's like. I've read Joseph Linzalone's book and of course Sear but haven't seen this one yet.

Inventage?

 

Barclay Head was the keeper of coins and medals at the British Museum toward the end of the 19th-century. Although modern scholarship has added a tremendous amount of information to the subject since that book was published in 1877, it's still a good read.

Yeah, I own the book. Got it in a group lot. Pretty dry for my taste. I like his Historia Numorum more. A book on the subject I would recommend more would be King Croesus' Gold, Excavations from Sardis.
