Hay i tommy I'm new to coin collecting and new to this site. I have a 1912 v nickel and it has a line cut in it on both sides in the same spot. I was wondering if it is a straight clipped planchet that did not brake off. Not Shore if that is possible. I would like to know what I got. Thanks.

Post mint damage. If it left the mint that way, the wear on the coin would have been different. Looks like the nickel was abused well after it became a worn down coin.
