Hey friends, I just won this ant of Tetricus, my first. In some ways, it doesn't represent the vast majority of these coins as it's well-struck on both sides, centered, fairly round, and has complete legends. Nice flow lines too. What do y'all think? The last of the Gallic emperors...
It looks like a very pleasing example of the young Tetricus II. These are all too often on odd shaped or ragged flans or worn reverse dies. Nice one.
that is a particular nice example! It is extremely rare in this shape. May I ask you where you purchased this item?
I'm impressed JA. For Tetricus II you did extremely well. Here is the typical flan shape of T II coins: TETRICUS II Antoninianus OBVERSE: C PIV ESV TETRICVS CAES, radiate, draped bust right REVERSE: SPES AVGG, Spes walking left, holding flower and raising skirt Struck at Treveri, 272-273 AD 2.5g, 19mm RIC 270v
Dear John you are the lucky one! I would be happy if you could post another image when you receive the coin. Greetings, Marc
Oh Boy!! ... that's a sweetie!! Yah sadly ... I gots nuthin' (no Tetricus here, my friend) ... Congrats, JA (cool addition)
great lookin' tetricus, and nice color, nice strike, flans in good shape. i have one lower end tetricus....but can't find my pic of it! y'all aren't missin' out on much.
What a great new coin, JA. I've been looking for one in similar condition to check my Tetricus Jr box but I suspect I'll be continuing to look for quite awhile. Well done!
Probably the nicest one I have ever seen. I have one but like most it is small and on a ragged flan. I also just realized I dont have a picture of it. Hum... must be from the dark ages of Anoob collecting.
