I opened this thread to determine what would be the Unseen coin post to be considered too RISQUE. I'm sorry, but if these posts are of monetary coins openly circulated in various societies, I'm really missing the objection. I have some difficulty accepting modern "mores", but circulating coins? Hmm, I don't know? Mapplethorpe design, maybe!! JMHO

I would suspect that many of the 1920's Italian "flying lady" coins came back to the US with returning servicemen.
I love the draped busts as well. They are modeled after Anne Willing Bingham, a prominent Philadelphia socialite.
1865 Schaffhausen Swiss Shooting Thaler - photos from wikimedia. I do have one purchased on ebay from Singapore for a suspiciously low £5.10. Not sure they were technically legal tender outside the shooting venue but did circulate.
