I put in the two offers on this coin but there was no response and no counteroffer made. I love the coin but just could not pay the full asking price. Anyone else want to post their "one that got away" but if you do please post pic's

Coin for the thread. I am running out of coins I have not posted. This 1980 nickel is just a fantastic red.

I dunno Vic, $1400 premium isn't all that bad considering to color and CAC

I was in Florida and decided to stop at a coin shop. I looked around for about 30 min and then found a 1825 half cent that was beautiful, and didn't have any problems. I wanted to buy it but i didn't want to spend that much money (especially because i was on vacation and needed to save money for souvenirs) so i didnt buy it :(. Later that day i realized i should have bought it and i regret that to this day

It's downright rude when sellers don't respond to serious offers.

I felt a $2750 offer was serious enough to at least warrant a counteroffer. The seller could have always set the make an offer to a level that disregards offers under acceptable to them. I was disappointed that there was no counter.

The prior sales on coinfacts were $2000. So 70% markup was a little too much for me to swallow.

Love the proof half! Price a bit steep and feel you offer was fair! One that got away was a killer toner Morgan was on the road in the truck and trailer and got the text alert for ha live was trying to find a place I could pull off to bid but there was also no reception by the time I found both it sold

I'm in your camp, Vic. I'm also surprised that you didn't get countered, and even a little surprised that $2750 didn't buy the coin.

I dislike making personal references about myself but the sentence "you must be rich?" can bother me. I had 4 years of college, 4 years of grad school costing $200,000 in loans for tuition alone, and 3 more years in a post grad degree. I work many hours a week and sometimes don't get a chance to speak to my daughter for over 24 hours because she is sleeping at midnight when I get home and was sleeping when I left for work. There are 4 ways to get rich. You can inherit money, steal money, get lucky, or work really really hard. I am not lucky. I have not inherited any money in my life. And I don't steal for a living. Everything I have is from working really hard and investing an ungodly amount of time and money in my education.

sorry. it was not meant to harm you. $2,750 is a lot to spend on 1 coin so that is why I called you "rich". I will never do that again. I too work very hard for my money.

it's ok. I should not have said "rich". I do envy your collection... it is so nice. I do hope you will be able to spend more time with your daughter. I was wondering what job you do ? if that's to personal I will understand. I work at Walmart as a ICS inventory control specialist. a fancy name for picker and unloading the trucks and put freight on pallets. I do work very hard for my money. I too have high debt. I hope someday maybe 3-5 years from now that I can spend more money on coins.

Yeah, strange offense, reminds me of the time I exposed the price of an ancient coin or the time I mentioned modesty to a few folks who only buy coins over $500. I guess, sometimes, all that hard work, stress and lack of time with family places a chip on our shoulders. Lets not forget that this is a public website. If you are going to show and boast expensive stuff, you may get a few comments that refer to that expensive stuff. Nothing strange in such responses. You're only as much at fault as the guy or gal showing off their valuables. Notice that dealers don't get offended when they show expensive stuff, after all, it's just an item passing through their hands before they turn a profit. It's only the collectors of the expensive stuff that occasionally react like this.
