Does anyone else save the interesting envelopes they get their coins in?

No, I never buy internationally on ebay or elsewhere. Never thought it was safe

I've had about the same loss rate with international orders as domestic orders. Maybe don't buy from Kyrgyzstan or somewhere like that, but most countries seem to be OK. And you always have eBay's buyer protection.

That's true. I may have to give it another look

My last international purchase was back in April, from a country near and dear from living there - Ukraine! Coins including a very large silver one arrived safely two weeks after they were sent. For the time being I still don't have a problem buying from the western part of Ukraine where there are normal postal services. Unfortunately the east is not sending out mail, bigger problems at play.

Most of the coins I buy come from the Middle East. I've never had a problem receiving any coins I've ordered from anywhere in the world. I know it happens, so knock on wood!

I am sure that the last five replies (#41-45) have something to do with the "envelopes" topic. I just have not found the connection yet ... ;)

I'm curious about the coins that came in the envelope in the original post. I know they're from Myanmar, but what year are they? I haven't seen them before.

Cost 38 hryvnia to send to me, unfortunately no stamps only metered mail - but I just noticed that the customs form has "ukrainian coins" in Russian and English. Uh Oh.

I remembered this thread when I came across this (as yet undiscarded) envelope from a coin purchase few months ago. I typically don't keep the envelopes even if the stamps are occasionally interesting, as in this case of a Whole Lotta James Michener...
