I would think it holds great value for you, but to anyone else it is minimal (the coin itself as a date/mint in this condition, even sans the damage, would be worth very little on its own). With that said, you might want to take a closer look at the mintmark, which from what I can see looks somewhat interesting and vaguely familiar.
It has a lot more value because its in the exumania its in. A cent like that by itself is worth a few cents. The piece like that is interesting to specialist collectors. Not terribly value, a few buck, but still. But, if from your grandfather's shop, to me it would be priceless.
Im just now checking this out today **forgot were i put it*** its crazy i see 2 on ebay, He kinda lives on threw ppl having these lucky pennys........Very Cool to see more of these were saved and are out there
It's an advertising piece. It does have value but not as much as it would if it showed a city and state in the address. I only paid $7.50 for the encasement shown in the images and it shows a city and state. So, your probably much better off holding on to it as it belonged to your grandfather.
Found several of them from some tractor company I believe my grandfather worked for back in the 1950s, the cents are still reddish in colour. They aren't worth a lot monetarily but precious otherwise.
I agree with the above but the history is worth much more that is an item that you can hand down to your kids as a memento from there great grandfather !! I also advise thought who have stuff relating to there family to keep it!! Even if it were worth 10.00, to your family it is priceless !! I hope you treasure and enjoy it !!
