If I were to do a clad 1965-2014 of Roosevelt dimes in my dansco album would this be considered a full set?

    Thanks!

You can define a 'full set' any way you like... sure, this would be a full set of clad roosies...

A true full set of Roosevelt dimes would be 1946-2014. However, as iontyre noted, it is a full set of clad Roosevelt dimes.

While you may call it whatever you like, the answer as to if this is a "full set" is no.

The OP specifically said "clad", so how is this not a full set?

Well, it was agreed that it's a full "clad" or "copper clad" set, 1965-2014. With that said, it's certainly not a full set of every year minted as we all know the years to be 1946-2014. All the OP has to do is spend enough to get 1946-1964 and then he will definitely have a full set of Roosevelt dimes. Better to throw some silver in the collection to increase the excitement of collecting along with increasing the value of your collection. WTG!!

The standard definition of a full set of any coin series is 1 example of every date from each mint at which they were minted. Varieties are not necessary to meet the definition of a full set.

But each full set can also be broken down into sub-sets, a clad set of Roosies is a sub-set of a full set. So you can have a clad set, you can have a silver set, or you can have a full set - of Roosies. They are all sets, but only 1 is a full set.

    And then there are proofs.

I did a set of silver Roosies in MS-66.
I did a set of silver Roosies in PF-67.
Also a set of silver Roosies in MS-66 FT/FB.
No varieties (I don't even know if there ARE any).
So my 3 sets can be considered type sets, i.e., sub-sets of a full set.
