I want to get a nice Indian Cent head penny proof. My question is realistically how much is a reasonable offer on a nicely toned proof. Let's say a normal RB ones are selling for $250-350 what would you expect to pay for a nice looking toner? I found a coin that I absolutely love but don't want to overpay just because I like it. The one I'm looking at is a 1882
I'd say a nice coin with nice color is at least a $700 coin if not more . It's better to pay more for a coin with great eye appeal as it will be an easy sell .
You can find some nice proofs at 64 , though at 65 or higher the price justs keep going higher . Did you check out Rick Snows store ? Or Charmys' store as she used to have a lot of nice toners and probably still does . Maybe PMing her so she could locate it for you .
That is extremely arbitrary and in many instances, you could be buried at that level. The grade, and most importantly eye appeal, are the dispositive factors. Without knowing what the coin looks like, no one will be able to properly advise you on price level.
I would try Eagle Eye Rare Coins, but on a quick look, Rick doesn't seem to have any in your price range as of today. Eagle Eye Rare Coins On a side note, his new site looks great! http://www.indiancent.com/index.php/inventory/1891-pr-65bn.html#.VAP3nFxSir8
The listing has ended, but this is the coin I was questioning. Asking price was $575 Full Eagle Rare Coins auction picture.
I bought these on eBay. The 64 rd looks more toned in hand then on the pic. Maybe I overpaid maybe I got a good deal but they were auction format so someone else was willing to pay in the same neighborhood that I was.
Like the coins Vic love the color on thd 82 but a bit high for A pf 63 I don't think woth that kind of premium
