Is this a coin that should number grade only or be given a details grade?

Now I see the rim issues besides the little group of nicks and agree, it looks like an ex-jewelry piece. Still, if you placed the high bid you are obligated to purchase it, and then pay to return it if you aren't happy. Those are the rules. You can't plead buyer's remorse. Pay for it, receive it, turn around and send it back and suck it up.

You bid, you won, you pay. Simple as that.

I'm not going to preach to you about ethics. Seems your ignoring the other posts about them....

Forget it. The seller and I agreed to cancel the transaction. He probably realized it would get returned anyway so why bother wasting our time, resources and money? If the seller had confidence his coin was a good one he would have offered more time to return it. The problem with people here is the lack of seller psychology.

A winning bid is a binding contract.
If you don't honor that contract, I must assume you have no honor in any other of your dealings.

You mean the problem is that other sellers are NOT selling crappy third rate slabs for pcgs rate?

Please just stop with this idiocy... the "problem" isn't with the people here, it's with you and is always with you. The guy most certainly didn't offer some schmo a 60 day return window not because he was afraid our resident superhero would uncover his attempt to pull a fast one, but because it was a ridiculous request from an obvious PITA buyer.

As for this "wasting OUR time, resources, and money" nonsense, what do you think you just did with his, and seemingly do with anyone foolish enough to take your bait? Please get off of your high horse, Mila... you're fooling no one other than yourself.

What bother me the most is the fact you caused all this trouble for the seller when all you had to do was take a glance at it, i could have told you this was a problem coin at first glance. Also you are the same guy who tried to Rip people off during the christmas event when you got 1909 VBD Wheat Penny in EF, some silver coins and other stuff then claimed it wasn't enough stuff and tried to get another package !! You are scum and i hope you get ripped off by ever seller who is selling cleaned coins !! i wouldn't ever sell you a coin if you gave me the best price in the world for it !

Frankly I don't care what you think of me. As far as I'm concerned you folks talk of being virtuous yet you're arrogant, hypocritical and vain. Have fun being a bunch of pea brained dummies because your talk only conveys such a message to me. You must all have miserable lives.

Maybe there is an alternate hypothesis. Here is what we know. Everyone on this board disagrees with much of what you say. I rarely if ever see anyone agree with you. So one side or the other is wrong. There is one person on one side and basically everyone else on the other. Statistically I can guess which side most likely to be right without looking at the subject matter.

Maybe we don't like "coin dealers" who try to con people out of money with third rate slabs at pcgs prices. Maybe we don't like people assume that no one here buys $2000 or higher coins. Maybe we don't like people who purchase an item that is not fraudulent and then not pay. Maybe we are not sheeple when we disagree with you. Maybe there are more of these maybes then i have time to list.

Ps. I'm happier with my life then I have ever been. I have a great family, I buy coins I used to only dream about when I was a kid. My career is great. I even have trophy cats :) sorry to disappoint you one last time on this one. I guess on your final post we will yet again agree to disagree.

Darn it! You beat me to it.

ANACS and ICG are second-tier graders. I guess, maybe, ICG may have fallen even to third tier, now? SEGS and NTC are self-graders, aren't they?

SEGS and NTC are not self-graders. They're fairly respectable graders. If not top tier then second tier worthy. Most people on Cointalk say they're third-tier or less however I personally disagree as I think I have seen many more of their slabs than most have here.

I think ANACS is the primary second tier and ICG is somewhere a little below. There is a long drop after that. As far as I know, SEGS and NTC aren't self-slabbers but they are WELL KNOWN to grossly overgrade and have a very poor reputation amongst knowledgeable collectors.

The OP here likes to run around and talk them up in an attempt to increase his sales of their graded coins.

Cant seem to do that so to make a long story short,During the christmas event last year i sent him a 1909 VBD in EF, a bunch or silver dimes and quarters and some other nice foreign and us coin total value around $25.00, he then posts how horrible the gifts are and how they are worth nothing and how he wanted to get a new package, he even contacted the person who ran it to see if he could get a new package!! He pretty much took scum to a whole new level !!
