yeah, i'm not familiar enough with world coins to venture much beyond the bargain bin. this one was in the bin right next to the bargain bin.

Got this 1898 Japan 50 Sen in the mail today. Snagged it for $3.49.

 

Just arrived from Austria. Why is it so much more gratifying when the new acquisition is shipped from the country of origin?

 

probably because it had very pretty stamps on it ? cool coin.

 

Beautiful coin, and I have always found it funny that they say "twelve lustri". Yes, one lustrum is five years but ... that's almost over-classy.

Did not know that, thanks. Has the same thing on the 100 Corona though it isn't on the rim, it's almost in exergue.
