It's not a proof strike, the denticles are a dead giveaway to that fact. I would call it AU-50. It's hard to see for sure, but it does look like it took a polishing in its past.
What's funny? I've been collecting proof coins for over thirty five years and know exactly what I'm talking about. I was just trying to give as honest of an an answer that I can based on your images. It is possible that I am incorrect, so I say send it in to a TPG and post the results. This would help me to avoid making the same mistake again.
