    Hi gang ...

    Yah, I am merely trying to verify the results from a 'study' that I conducted on another coin site ... on the previous site, I did not have a "poll" (I merely asked everybody what they did, or what they did when they were actively employed ... you know, way back then!!)

    ... anyway ...

    If you have a sec, then please quickly read-through the random groupings that I decided to include (ummm, I realize that my groupings are probably a bit vague and/or too specific in some cases, but merely try to find a description that "best fits" your peg-hole in our world)

    Thanks

    Cheers to engineers!!

    ;)

    I made the assumption that you weren't addressing this only to collectors of world/ancient coins. If I'm wrong, feel free to subtract my vote :)

    Hate to be a buzzkill Steve, but it seems you left off the stereotypical occupation, Accountant/banker. Heck, people assume I am in that profession when I tell them I collect coins. :) Must be from the assumed lust of money in both my profession and Hobby.........

    Elderly care for me. After spending 5 years taking care of my grandmother full time from alzheimers I started working for a family friend who runs a business of helping elderly with alzheimers or other ailments and its something I enjoy doing.

    Ahahah, sorry med-man ... they cut me off after a certain number of options (I don't know, or hang-out with any banker-types, so it merely slipped my mind ... sorry)

    ... in all honesty, my next category was gonna be "spirits" (liquor store, bars, etc), so don't feel left-out (by skipping that category, I dissed 75% of my closest friends)

    ... you rock (ummm, I guess if you really are a banker, then just pick "other")

    Hey, don't sweat it if you don't have a category ... just put "other" and explain your job/career (huh, I guess this is why I didn't do a 'poll' in my previous thread, eh?)

    *rats* => sorry gang ... it is supposed to be interesting and 'fun' ... it's not supposed to be a thread for venting that I didn't include your occupation (just find a box that's close, or merely pick "other" and explain what you do/did for a living)

    thanks fellas (lady)

    Hi Dave M ...
    => yes, you're 100% correct => I am certainly inviting any World Coin collectors to join-in and add their info (thanks for pointing-out my missing)

    ... ummm, in all honesty, I am inviting "any" coin collector (even those creepy US modern dudes) to join-in and give me/us some data points!!

    ;)

    ahaha, obviously just jokes ... I'm pretty sure that all of us ancient-coin collectors started-out with 'modern' coins, right? (I collected Dominion of Canada coins and I'm fairly sure that I've heard the rest of you dudes mention that you have a few classic US coins hidden in the ol' tickle-trunk, right?)

    => the more, the merrier!!

    No teacher category? Or would that be under "Government"?

    If enough people vote, I suspect the categories will come out fairly even. I don't think the coin collecting bug is partial to any professions.

    I would agree. I believe most people start out collecting their local coins in use, and then change habits only after learning what is available. Heck, I collected US coins for a couple of decades before I found ancients, and being a hoarder still have all of them! Hopefully my sons will want them, if not I am sure they will appreciate the money they bring. :)

    => rats, that's a good one!! ...

    Ummm, how 'bout I mix-in teachers with "students" or is that gonna piss everybody off?

    Or "sure" => would you rather add it to Government?

    => I'll ask the mods to add that into the governmet description (it may make it a bit murky, but again, it is merely a generic "touching-base" measurement)

  19. stevex6

    I have asked the mods to add "Teacher" to the government box (NOTE => I'm now pretty sure that at least 50% of the Government box will be teachers)

    ... thanks again for giving me your comments regarding how crappy my pick-boxes seem to be ...

    ;)

    => just jokes (I love you guys)
