Last one from the ANA: [Please, stop cheering. Okay, I'll stop posting ] 1834 O-101 R-1 VF Obv: Large date, Large letters; forecurl one solid piece. Rev: 50 C is large & high; Base of M well above base of E From Amanda-- Thanks Common variety, but I needed it.
More nice busts!! And you can never go wrong with a nice bust!! actually it's these early coins which I love!! I'd rather have the bust halfs you posted then any gold Kennedy
Well, I am prejudiced, but I agree. A lot more fun, and the individuality is what makes them fun. Anyone can buy an MS 70 JFK, but these? A ton of work and searching.
Agreed!! I don't collect bust halfs but I buy a lot of them as I like them! I've finally decided other then my type set to focus on trade dollars by date and mintmark with the Philadelphia in proof a very tough coin to find problem free and in their original surfaces and I still haven't forgot about doing the flowing hair and bust dollars by date too
Bust hair are good but with a full set . 2014 24kt Gold 50th set is one coin I have been waiting 50 years to see. I was standing in line for the 1st 1964 Mint and Proof sets February 1964 in Philly. I got grounded for cutting school to getting the first sets . So this is a welcome image to a collector of Kennedy half dollars . American history 101 seen on tv 11/23/1963
Kazakh 2 tenge bill. I like how it appears to be designed by Alex Grey, especially the reverse (or is that the obverse?) around the "2".
New trade 1943 Seated dollar ,this one was one of the longest trade I have ever done . Started March 2014 two days ago Dale agreed .
I've purchased from him off eBay with some mixed success. The Oregon Trail (1926) I bought from him came back from NGC and cleaned. I couldn't ask him for a return since there was a large gap in the time I purchased the coin and the grading submission. I'm using the coin as an example. I'm trying to see the telltale signs of a cleaning, but can't see them.
Well ya win some cleaned on eBay yes it happens each min. But a good eye helps. He gets 1000 of coins each week . If ya can not tell what's been cleaned. I cannot help that.
I expect a dealer to mention obvious problems. But I can see your point, people should know what they're doing. Still, sometimes it can be hard to identify problems from pics...
