Actually looking at Krause, there's no entry for the 1895 5 centimes, but they have two entries for 1896, so maybe both sets are complete.

I also got this neat coin from the Comoros Islands. I know this is probably just made for collectors but I like the coelacanth fish so I had to have it.

 

Here is a half-rupee from the Indian princely state of Cooch Behar, reign of Rajendra Narayan, 1771-73. Sold as "unidentified coin", but in very nice shape.

people might be more interested in these coins in higher grades.

 

Well, people buy low grade British pennies all the time and this is the same type of coin in my opinion. I think there just aren't as many collectors for countries like France, Belgium and the Netherlands for whatever reason. When I try to sell my extra coins from these countries they sit around forever.

 

I got this Chinese dollar coin today, my second one. It is supposedly year 10, or 1921 but the characters above his doesn't match what I have seen for 1921. It shows ones with 7 characters above head as years 8, 9 and 10 only. It has regular reeded edge. Can anyone thelp me what year this is? The character that doesn't match what is have seen is the third one from left.

 

again people do like these other countries in high grades. I like Belgium in high grade. wish I could afford France in high grade.

 

I only see 1 year in my Krause catalog. is shows a 1914 in the Kiangnan province KM#407 Dollar, weight- 26.6000 g. silver

I hadn't looked under Chinese provinces for it, i thought it was a regular republic of China dollar. I'm certain it is authentic, whatever it is. it is definetley silver and not magnetic. i got it from a dealer i buy from a lot. i was at his shop and he sold me this, and an unc 1932 Sweden 1 krona for $20 that were part of a collection he had just bought. He didn't want to mess with foreign coins and knows i buy all of the ones he gets.

 

People like anything in high grades to a certain extent, but there's also a large market for people who don't want to spend hundreds of dollars per coin, and those people show little interest in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain. I think in the U.S. it is because of immigration. A lot more people in the U.S. are of British or German ancestry than French or Dutch.

 

looking farther, it looks like it matches 329.6, except the second character is slightly different on the top left of it, the curved part doesnt extend as far, and it shows 6 characters, mine has 7, the first character being the extra.

 

Here is a image of a date converter. Based on this yours is a 1921.
The 1921 had oblique reeding as a variety listed as Y#329.5. Y#329.6 includes the 1919,1920, and 1921, or years 8,9,10.

just because they do not buy your coins does not mean there are not many people are interested in these countries. how did you come to that conclusion ?

 

I know a couple of world coin collectors that like these other countries.

 

I have some coins from all 4 of those countries, plus Luxembourg too. I buy them when i find good deals.

 

there is a bee's Luxembourg coin that is on my want list but it goes for $95-140.

 

I like Belgium high grade coins.

Probably not; my guess would be the €5 collector coin from last year. Apis mellifera, y'know. Unless he already has that one ...
