It is real, confirmed with several folks at the ANA.

They buyer took an option on #2 to #4.

 

Backorder date changed again. Now listed as "expected to ship 8/12". Yet order is still "in process" and cancel button is still there.

Any updates on how many orders have been cancelled? Seems like that is all I am reading, but no sales figure updates since the second day

 

In theory we should get an update tomorrow - isn't that when the Mint releases their sales figures? Would that take into account cancelled orders?

I just checked both PCGS and NGC. As far as I can tell, neither is listing a deadline for the gold Kennedy halves, although they both list deadlines (later this month) for the clad ones.

Mine shipped today. Have UPS tracking but it isn't valid yet

 

UPS makes its pick up of shipped packages at the warehouse at about 6 PM central time. UPS scans packages as they go onto the truck.

 

As a favor to whoever wants to buy one or more coins of the 5 coins in the shipment I will be glad to sell it to you at the same price of USMINT. NO GAIN, just you pay the shipping. And of course, cash, certified check or money order only. I will give access to the tracking # that USMINT will e-mail me as soon as I receive it. This way you can see when it arrives. The only additional charge would be that you pay for the shipping to your address; USP or USPS.
This will be in order to help you guys that wantred more coins and did not had the opportunity to get them. The selling price will be $1,240.00 you can pay with PAYPAL but the % they charge me will be covered by you as an additionsal fee to the selling price.

Dude! Wasn't yours saying it was backordered into September? What was your order number (first 5 digits)?

I know @Levi got in well ahead of me (and even @rickmp), with an order number of 43703xxx. Mine was 43707xxx, twenty minutes or so later.

Not wishing delays on anybody else here, obviously, but if it turns out that they're fulfilling orders at random rather than first-come-first-served, well, that'll crank up the annoyance level a bit further...

 

Yeah, still not confirmed real. All kinds of "inside" deals are made to create publicity.
