I just am speechless on these. SP68 Grades means they were not really handled well as was said in another thread, so it looks as if one gets a SP69, it could be a winner. These are the first graded ones I have seen so I was in shock. Doesn't the show start today?

Heck here is a Gold one?

There are more but I think I have figured out what is up,

The first day of issue to NGC were shipped and then sent in to NGC.

The ANA Gold is /appears to be a manipulated photo, so that explains how these are for sale before the show starts.

Clads were not ANA show. No telling what a high grade will be yet. Gold is pre-sell

On another thread someone had mentioned the premiums being paid by a dealer for all of the Clad Halves purchased ON release day direct from the Denver & Philly Mint. These must be the coins, and it looks like he should come out a winner if people are actually willing to pay these prices. First Day of Issues shall be rare birds indeed.

None have sold yet. We shall see if the are winners.

NGC required a receipt showing a 7-24 purchase date and coins had to be in their hands by Monday the 28th to get first strike or first day. No telling how many actually made it to NGC by the 28th.

The gold price, I can understand. But the others? Nope.

I'm not surprised by the asking prices on any of them.

Although, from the 5 sets I received yesterday, that SP68 is going to be very tough to achieve.

Gold spot is $1294 oz today if gold spot changes through out the sales of these will mint prices change on them maybe it might be better to wait and check spot each day of sales then buy these if prices change

    These are nifc coins

Care to guess the final mintage after all returns on the gold coin 200K

Of course they have to ask outrageous prices on them since it cost them $75 a coin to grade. SMH. A BIG WASTE OF MONEY. Of course, this is my opinion. And I am talking about the clad halves.

The cost for the first day of issue is not $75. That is for the special labels for PCGS. I believe NGC is $50 ea. for the clad at the show.

I have my pictures of the ones that came today. Compare to a 64 Proof for details etc...

There is a ding right below the eye on mine. It seems to be on both mints yet not on the 64. I need to look into this more.

Ok here are more pictures, I am still on the fence on quality. I do not see many bag marks but.....one things these were a &(%* getting out of the holder. I picked my worse set and opened them. I had to, as I wanted to see them up close and the wife thought she saw dings and it was the holder. Now I know, that particular one was not a ding.

If you want 'perfect' coins, then buy proofs. And even still, you'll find some of those lacking in quality.

Hoping for a 'variety' Ethan? devil.gif
