Which Coin Photos Do You Like Better? I am trying to determine if I should bother taking my own photos for coins I buy from certain sellers who already have decent photos. In some cases I think mine are worse than the seller photos, but I'm unsure and don't think I can be an impartial judge. Is one set of photos clearly better than the other? COIN 1, SET A: COIN 1, SET B: COIN 2, SET A: COIN 2, SET B: Thanks for your help.
1A, 2B. Is it just me or does the 1838 Bust Half look more crooked in the holder in set B than it does in set A...?
I like B better than A in both. I like the B picture in the first coin better than the B coin in the second picture. Are you going to tell us which photos are yours?
Agreed. Borrow them and use them IMHO. It's not like we're selling them to an advertising agency, I would only use them to show my coin geek friends on CT, I'm not monetizing them. I love to collect the old HA / GC photos of my coins. In many cases, they are better than the eBay sellers photos and I can really make an informed decision. I also keep seller photos for most every coin I own, regardless of how bad they are. It helps me remember what I "saw" in the photos that made me want to put down hard earned cash.
I am OK with keeping for your own records, but I don't like when people use my pictures when they resell something they bought from me. Maybe I'm the only one.
Why does it bug you that someone appreciates your skills enough to purchase your coins from your images and then wants to use those images to flip the coin. Do you state in your listings that they are copyrighted and not for others use? This has never made any sense to me as I bought the coin based on the image.
