Anyone know of cheaper parking within short distance of the convention next week? $20 a day is steep in my opinion. Granted you are right across the street but if you know of cheaper parking relatively close, let me know.

lol...that depends on how far it is!! I have to get there early since I didn't pre-register. It's not that I can't afford $20 a day, but hey, more to spend inside. I want some of those special scratch and sniff gold Kennedy labels.

You never answer a question with a question. Sometimes that works, but in this case it doesn't.

I always foudn you could park almost anywhere along the L stations and just take it to the airport stop. Little bit of a hike from the L station to the convention, but not too bad. Now, would I want to be taking this walk by myself holding a lot of cash or valuable coins? Maybe not, and I am 6'2" and 245, and I still would not prefer that. In that light, maybe $20 does not seem out of line.

Have you used Google Earth to survey the streets? It looks like there should be plenty of places to park down the block, but it depends how much of a mad-house this thing is going to be. That's why I picked the motel 6, it's less than a mile away. No need to rent a car that way or pay for parking, plus I'll have a Sub Sandwich place right across the street behind a gas station. Just don't walk anywhere near that spooky looking park........ I'm guessing that's where they dump the bodies....

When in Chicago (or any other large city) it is best to park as close to the venue as possible. You really don't want to be carrying coins and cash any further than is absolutely necessary.

Get a hotel room near the venue. Park in their lot. Take a taxi (be sure to tip your driver) to and from the venue. That's what I do.

Rosemont is not Chicago . But like Rick and Chris said you'll be carrying coins and or money . Do you want to risk it when there's morons out there who want to take it away .

I park at the CTA "park and ride" which is just off the expressway. It is a 5 minute or so walk to the convention center. I think it costs $5 to park.

The blueline train gets you there too from Downtown or the burbs.

Frankly, I feel safer walking along a busy street than in any parking garage.

If several of you are staying at the same hotel, you could get together and carpool from the hotel to the parking garage and split the fee.

We are actually staying out in Schaumburg close to my daughter's family and the grandkids and will drive in from there every day. Park and ride looks a little further than 5 min. And I don't think there is a train from Schaumburg that goes to Rosemont.
