That most likely some type of planchet flaw behind 2? air bubble under or Post mint damage the date. but as Wide AM an expert/grading service would have to confirm what we think we see
But the M seems to be evenly spaced between the A and E. On the close AM the M appears to be definitely shifted toward the A and not evenly spaced. I pay much attention to the gap between the A and the M because that can vary somewhat due to wear or polishing of the die. But if you just look at the AME as a group on the close AM the M will definitely look too far to the left.
I see the AM and to me it looks like there is no space between the two letters which makes me believe it's a CAM. Would be nice if it was that easy.
