The 1859 Philadelphia Mint half dime is a one year type obverse with hollow stars and is very difficult to find the stars well defined on the left side. I did pay a premium for this coin, not because it has the CAC bean but, because the overall quality of the strike is exceptional for this date and it is a great looking coin as well.
On the normal star the points of the star meet at the center. In the "hollow" star there is a hole at the center.
Nice looking coin, I was looking at the coin awhile back, here are some other pics of it. The Rev almost looks PL.
