    Maybe/Maybe not.

Not everybody in line is going to purchase 2 of these. I know that if I were in "that" line, I'd only be buying 1.

Nope. I cannot justify the expense. Had I been able to, this 500 tickets a day" thing would have blown that out of the water.

I'll use some other method for procuring one of these which is too bad since I'd really liked to have met you in person.

I see on the Mint's website the order limit is 5 per person either by phone or their website. Initial quantity of 40,000 coins to be struck. So, at #251 if the first 250 people buy 5 each that comes to 1250 so you should not have a problem getting the number you want.

No, no....only 500 per day, 2 per person at the ANA convention.

The ANA is no longer telling people this as the mint told them it may not be accurate. Who knows though...o_O

I hope it stays at 2 per person because that seems fair and equitable.
But I'll try and get a picture or two of person #251, so you can watch their conniption fit, Chief!!!

Okay, I got it, at the ANA convention it is 2 per person and only 500 per day. Directly from the Mint the limit is 5 per person by phone or website. I would just order it from the Mint's gift store and not have to worry about not getting one after standing in line for hours.

Ed, per the US Mint, the purchase limit at the ANA Shows will be a maximum of 2 gold Kennedy coins per customer. AND, you'll have to have a ticket, issued by the US Mint, in order to make that purchase.

What I am wondering is how will the US Mint handle customers that wish to purchase Proof and Mint Sets? Will there be a separate register?

    Based upon what?

I received an email from the ANA specifically outlining the procedures which will be followed AND specifically stating what the US Mint told them with regard to the Gold Kennedy Half Dollars.

As far as I know, this has not been superceded unless you can provide evidence to the contrary.

On the other hand, if the Mint did change their parameters, then they shpuld publicize the changes.

    Speaking of order limits....
If a person purchases 2 coins at the ANA show, would this person also be able to order 5 (or any number) via the US Mint website? Does anyone know how strict they are with this type thing? Should this person be sure to use different credit/debit cards? Thank you :)

As far as I know, they do not check id's at the coin shows and as such, you could theoretically buy two at the show and order 5 more while you're standing in line.

At the Long Beach Show, where order limits of 5 were in place for the HOF CnClad Half Dollars (proof and unc) folks were buying their 5 then going to the back of the line to successfully buy 5 more.

From what I understand, the same scenario existed at the Baltimore Show when the coins were initially released. (Which is what caused all this discussiob in the 1st place.)

But then you can't pay an extra $100 per coin to get the Super Extra-Exclusive First Moments Of Release With Scratch-n-Sniff slab label!

Unless they keep track of addresses at the show and compare with internet sale addresses you should be able to get 5. Credit card will not be an issue.

Good luck to ya, and TRV, don't take no crap in that line.....

I might need to borrow a tomahawk for protection, Chief :)
And a discreet catheter for standing in those long lines.....
