That's the gist of it, no harm done.

Good thing you didn't plan on buying 5 of each or now you'd be buying 10 of each. What changed your mind? I'd like to say forget it to some of the mint's offering, but everytime I do, I miss the boat.

I don't collect the series and my girl friend is a big Kenney fan

I think I'm going to buy one, but I agree with SQG that the obverse of the Kennedy Half doesn't exactly lend well to the enhanced finish. I can see the reverse looking very similar to the SAE enhanced reverse with some elements jumping out in contrast, but I truly wonder what they will do with the obverse.

I'm not going to buy any. I'm giving up on most of all the new mint products.

I like to pick and choose, but my track record is fairly good.. The last one I was excited about was the 5-coin 2011 SAE Set

I'd like to give up on new mint products, it sure would be easier on my wallet, but there are just too many I like - not to mention there's often an immediate and long term profit to be made.

Same here. I was wanting to take them to Chicago with me this weekend but it looks like that won't happen now. I cancelled my wife's order since they changed that delivery date too. When will the mint ever learn to have enough stock on hand before they sell something so they can ship when they say they can instead of always backordering?

A better question is: Will we ever learn to stop ordering from them so they will begin to take us seriously, thereby seeing it is in their best interest to get their act together? I think it is more up to us to do something about it than it is up to them.

Also had my order backed up to Aug 1st - again, I ordered mine in the 1st 15 min the item was for sale... They need to work on their fulfillment center.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, the Mint has no incentive to change as long as people keep buying their products. As long as we merely complain but don't back it up with action, it would seem little will be accomplished.

We have the ability to vote with our wallets if we choose to do so. Historically, complaining has not brought about much change. Action, on the other hand, has.

To complain over waiting a few weeks for coins to be minted/shipped is silly to me

True, but, in theory the mint’s often lousy service does affect their sales. Even though many do still order from them, their sales may be much higher if they didn’t disappoint so many. Of course those that order from the mint, may feel compelled to do so, as they’re the only game in town for new issue US coins. The mint’s monopoly powers breeds incompetence and consumer abuse, as it does in any monopoly.

Do me a favor. If you're going to Chicago, check to see if they are selling any of the over the counter. If so, then these are the coins that us Online Orderers should have received.

Well, since it’s business as usual with the clad set, we can probably count on it being even worse for the silver set. Many may not see them before the holidays, so if you want them for presents, it may be wise to order them from someone who has them in hand (like all the big dealers). There you go, if many did this, we could make a dent in the final mintage and dry up the available supply on the secondary market, making the set a more desirable collectable.

If the mint had a certain number set aside for the ANA, and a certain amount set aside for first day orders online, then no, they are not the ones you should have received.

That thought crossed my mind too. The mint already has us "locked in" on a hot collectable, so why not let us wait, so they can sell more at the show.

I don't think the mint ever said what the allocation would be, they only stated 37k sets would be available for online, gift shop and show sales.
