A thought I frequently have is something along the lines: 'I wonder what my collection will be like in 15-20 years when I've had some real experience and am a little older and more financially stable and capable of buying some even better coins' I am hoping it resembles the collections of you and Hugh and some of the other seasoned veterans.
I can say the same. I've been into coins forever but only got real serious again around 3 years ago the bulk of my collection I've bought then and I've refined my taste a lot more. I'm starting to feel confident and comfortable buying seriously expensive coins when I can afford them. I'm not that old either!!
True but we talked about this I wish is been buying some of the coins you've been getting 10 years ago I wasn't connected to the Internet or the coin business so all I saw was whatever came up at estate auctions etc I still got some decent stuff. I got a couple more real nice toned seated coins coming the first of next week I'm supposed to get them Monday if I can meet up with the dealer
Must've missed that at some point Bill, you still have great coins and enjoy seeing them. Sure would love to meet up with you Maine boys one day
If your ever in the portland area there's a few of us and Gerry Fortin the seated dime expert lives in Raymond Maine too about 25 min from me I gotta meet up with him on Monday or Tuesday he's got a couple more things I want there's a lot of good coin guys around here!
To keep the thread on track, this little baby arrived today. ^^^^ *****those photos were cropped and auto enhanced by the iPhone camera app, otherwise they were washed out****** Gerry is a pretty great guy, he's been helping me out tremendously with the club stuff and my seated quarter collection. I check his site daily for news and updates.
