It is hard to say just yet.But I'm sure that the Mint will make a UHR that will satisy collectors. it could be a gold eagle, double eagle, buffalo gold, or even and indian qusrter eagle. I'd say there will be no household limits and that they might say 500k initially in total for everything. Then mint even more as the demand increases.

That's going to be one expensive coin and a coin that very few collectors will be able to afford. I bit the bullet on the first issue back in '09 but I won't be this time. In fact I sold that coin this past January......the packaging takes up too much room in the coin cabinet. :) As an aside, why can't the mint produce a high relief coin in silver? It certainly would be much more affordable to the average collector.

an UHR silver would be interesting. Instead they are doing a silver medal.

Expensive? How much over spot was the 2009? If this came out today what do you think the price would be?

I paid $1189 back in '09. I think gold spot was between $920-$980 for the first part of the year.

I would love to see another Saint-Gaudens’ designed $20 Double Eagle. I missed the 2009. I think its the best US coin ever. The Indian Head may be nice. I also think a gold version of the Walking Liberty would be amazing.

It's just speculation right now and might never get the go-ahead. If the silver "medal" is only sold with the gold coin it would be remincent of the 1995-W silver eagle which was only sold with the gold sets and that made it the key that it is today. I missed the 2009 UHR, so this would be fun and the silver piece could be a new hot collector coin, I'm just not sure how many people would seek a "medal"........

I bet it's actually going to be another silver eagle!!!!

For most of 2009 gold was in the 870 to 940 range with a low of 810 in January and a high of 985 in February. It then broke $1000 in September and spent the rest of the year in the 1080 to 1200 range with a high of 1215 in December and a low of 990 in September.

Why issue an offering for only 'rich' buyers? Has the common man been forgotten?

These are my thoughts and were my actions as well. I sold mine 3 months earlier than yours and the buyer (a dealer) didn't even ask for the box but did want the paperwork.

Probably for the same reason they're issuing the Kennedy 50th gold coin... PROFIT.

Why issue coins for only poor buyers, like pennies, dimes, etc? They should make gold pennies to satisfy all collectors..

Seems big money has subverted everything sacred in this country, especially the rule of law. If you have enough money you could force Barack Obama to sing in the next version of the Kars For Kids commercial series. This whole country can be bought for a price sadly. Virtue here no longer exists, just vice because people have just allowed it to be that way as most lack virtue, guts and integrity today.

Really more percentage profit will be made in coins most people can afford. From what I've been told you should try to make 4 times your money or more when selling an item to have a viable business. You can't easily do that with gold coins that aren't microscopic.
