Taxidermist - I encourage you to check -- that is the first time I've EVER posted a WTS thread. And, I don't actually sell coins on my website.

The original post on my site that started this trainwreck even SAYS at the top, "
The daily drool edition of Coin Porn ..." and if the post had been edited, it would say so with a date and time. It was always my intent to just show this coin as something pretty to look at, and nothing else.

I'm sorry that some took it as "shameless self promotion". This was just supposed to be some Coin Porn on a Wednesday afternoon.

Amanda, I got absolutely no problem with anything you said or did. This forum allows promotion, this is why there is an Advertising section. Being a concerned CT member, I just mentioned how "link only" threads might not be in your best benefit.

And another thing worth mentioning, you might want to reconsider the usage of the phrase "Coin Porn" on your site. The keyword "porn" will make Googlebot take your website to a wonderful, but very wrong direction, which might cause weird/unrelated natural traffic and inferior SERP rankings. Just a friendly advice from someone who works in SEO since 2007.

I think the whole "coin porn" stuff is childish. I fail to see the link between coins and sexual arousal.

 

Terms like "Food Porn", "Shoe Porn", "Science Porn", "Earth Porn" (, "[Insert The Blank] Porn" are popular (and have been for a very long time), and have nothing to do with sexual arousal. Things tagged with the "porn" at the end are usually pretty pictures of whatever-it-is.

Amanda, I don't think there's anything wrong with your threads or the term coin porn. They are the kind of things that give coin collecting "soul." Without such things, people, stories, events ect. coins would just be stamped metal, and coin collecting just a check-off list. Sorry it became a Garden Party for you.

 

I'm with longnine on this one Amanda...Mr. Loveless too I think your threads are great. Keep 'em coming. BTW, I love the Morgan. Thanks.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALM DOWN. She put a link to her site... so what. I don't mind clicking the link, I always like what Amanda posts anyway. While i see the view that it is easier if its just on this page, but come on guys an extra second of your day clicking a link...

 

So I think the main takeaway from this thread is that bkozak has a major beef with Amanda.

 

I like to take photos of sunsets and sunrises or cool cloud formations I see and post them to instagram. I almost always use the tags skyporn sunset/sunriseporn and cloudporn. I see nothing wrong with those terms.

Beautiful coin Amanda I wonder why it doesn't have the cameo designation.

 

Oh for gosh sakes. For all the self-promotion that already happens in this forum, Amanda really has not wronged anyone by linking to her site where the picture is. I don't see a single word on that page or in this post that indicates she is openly entertaining offers or otherwise promoting the coin for a sale.
