So a little while ago, I purchased a lot of coins, for a reasonable amount being that I was ignorant to what they were. The person was an absolute terror of a person, and was in no way hospitable, nor into numismatics. Anyways, I got a 1982 Krause book with the lot of coins, which I have been fondly using to judge the appreciation values of coins. Well as I am going through this book, a piece of paper falls out, and it so happens to be a 1981 California State highway patrol 55 dollar bill, saying to mind the speed limit. Which at the time was 55mph to conserve gasoline. Can anyone tell me more about this wonderful discovery I have? The value is probably not a lot, but I really enjoy the history of the things I collect. How many were made? What spurred them to be made? Was this the only thing like it to have been made? Thanks!
Sounds like an interesting note indeed! I just found a few on eBay, and it looks like they go for around $2.99 though.
Bah, you beat me to the picture. I take forever to upload pics only because I hate uploading to 3rd party site in order to post. Yea that is the one I have, I thought it was incredibly neat I found it in my coin book!
