I loved it immediately when I laid eyes on her. There's only a few attractive patterns through the seated quarter years that are what I would consider affordable. Many go for $5,000+ and that's just a bit too much for me to pay right now. I figured $2200 was more palatable and I sold some things to help cover the cost also. In fact I sold my favorite piece of gold to afford this one coin. I figured I could easily replace a generic $10 Indian over a pattern coin that was in reach and available right now. This coin has a population of like 13, with only 3 being higher (in this metal composition, probably 50 or so pieces across all metal and strikings). The other thing too is that pictures just can't capture the beauty of this coin. I think I would need to send it over to Robec for some true view style images to make it show it's true awesomeness.
Yes ! it was made in 1945 for 100th Av a English farm. But has no country markings.I am not sure if its Amish American or a Farm in England?
Alright...finally decided on my 1800s proof. With the help of ebay bucks, I picked this one up for well under 400. Plus it has a very low mintage with only about 600 pieces struck! Nice PR64 as well.
Here are the 1942 PDS Washingtons for the toner Dansco set I'm putting together. Finding raw reasonably attractively toned Washies from the early '40's is difficult. I plan to upgrade the D and S to BU when and if I can find appealingly toned examples. The P was imaged by Shane Canup and the D and S were imaged by Bob Campbell. I think they did excellent jobs.
Nice 1942-D One thing you may want to check out Rev there is a double die Rev known for that date and mint mark. Could change value a bit.
An interesting fantasy coin, design by Daniel Carr, struck in pure copper on an excessed Denver Mint coin press.
Purchased from Lost Dutchman, really loved its portrait more then my old. Domitian (81 - 96 A.D.) AR Denarius O IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P VI, laureate head right. R: IMP XIIII COS XIII CENS P P P, Minerva standing right on capital of rostral column, holding spear and shield, owl at foot right. Rome Mint, 87 A.D. 3.3g 19mm (RIC [1962] 92), RSC 218, BMC 103
Not only is it my first 20 Cent Piece, but this is the date I've wanted for at least 5 years. Pretty rare with only 14,640 minted and this one has semi proof-like surfaces. Due to some light surface hairlines it currently resides in an ANACS UNC. details holder, which afforded me the opportunity to acquire it. Sorry for the lousy "1st try" pics...
I have this 2007 D penny, it looks like a 3 under the 7, I could be wrong. If anyone has this seen this coin and may know something about it, I would appreciate it!!!
