Hey All, you know me :cyclops: Well I noticed the ES in states looked a bit different, I then used an eye loupe. It looked like split serif to me, but you know me I want to see what is not there at times. I then snapped some pictures 10x mag and enlarged the pics. Well, I got these; is this anything? ddr.jpg IMG_0043.JPG IMG_0049.JPG IMG_0052.JPG IMG_0045.JPG

I believe what you have here is machine doubling, also called mechanical doubling or strike doubling and sometimes called ejection doubling.

dang nab it! Thanks for checking....so the ES in states don't look like they have the split serif? I have been tossing a lot of MD trying not to bother ya all, but I thought since this was a newer coin I should check. Had my hopes up:facepalm::blackeye:

oh just in case, I know they look flat on the other letters, but they are not. It was super hard with what I got to even get these pics, the coin is so shiny I kept getting glare back....

On a lighter note I found this too:

Looks like a retained cookie chip with a frosting lamination error.....:) IMG_20140627_165247.jpg
