NEED TO IDENTIFY ARAB-SASANIAN COIN

    I bought this coin from ebay. But somehow I am still curious about the authenticity of the coin. What do you think?

    sadly, I'm not the guy that's gonna tell you whether it is authentic or not ... but I am the guy that's gonna say:

    => "man, I think your coin is very cool ... I sure hope that it turns-out to be a total winner"

    I also have an example of a Sasanian coin ... I'll post it merley for comparison ...

    Sassanian Kingdom, Peroz I AR Drachm
    Date: 459-484 AD
    Diameter: 28.1 mm
    Weight: 4.1 grams
    Obverse: Bust of Peroz
    Reverse: Fire altar with attendants at sides

    by the way your coins look great too..my coin has diameter of 30.5 mm and weighs 3.8 grams..

    I think your coin looks fine.

    I believe it's an Ubayd Allah b. Ziyad AR drachm. Search those terms, you'll likely find matches.

    thanks Bob L.. yes it is an Ubayd Allah b. Ziyad Ar drachm..Actually at my first sight i think it is an original coin..but somehow i need someone like you guys to examine and identify it.

    thanks to all of you. Now i am sure that the coin is authentic and not the fake one. By the way, should i grade it as a 'very fine' coin or just 'fine' ?

    I think Steve has found the right coin!!! 2mm off for a hammer coin is within most standard .
