I thought it would be interesting to see what people's biggest pet peeves are when it comes to coins. I personally can't stand rim damage or when people don't hold coins by the rim.

Scratches on slabs that obstruct coin admiration. If you're going to waste your money on a subjective third party opinion, protect the packaging that guarantees that opinion.

Agreed. But what is with all the hate on Grading Companies all of the sudden?

Why not have a company slab and grade the condition of the current slab. I would think a ms65 morgan in a perfect slab would be worth more than a scuffed slab.

So have another company like psgs (professional slab grading service) grade the slab that is protecting the coin?
I wonder if any nitwit tried doing this before

But then who would grade the PSGS slab?

Ok, I know a lot of people don't agree, but...it's a cent. Yes, I know that nickels do not have the word nickel on them. Yes, when you get them from a bank, the roll says "pennies". But officially, the US coin denomination of 1/100th of a dollar is called a CENT. You can call it a penny or whatever you like, but in a professional discussion, they are cents, not pennies.

Its a fine idea. I have seen a few people on multiple forums get upset when they buy a coin online and the slab is scuffed. Now with PSGS you can trade graded coins sight unseen, with total confidence. You also get piece of mind that the slab is authentic.

My biggest coin pet peeve is the continued use of dead presidents on our coins. Enough already, it is long past due for a complete redesign of our circulating coins.

Are you trying to force the metric system on the American people?;)

If they can somehow prevent people from cleaning their slabs with sand paper, it's a great idea. I love it when some slabs smell like lemon pledge.:p

Wouldn't calling them "pennies" be more suitable for that analogy, since pennies are British and cents are American? :p
