A few more for tonight... Mozambique - 1 Escudo - 1936 Ethiopia - 25 Cents - 1936 Ethiopia - 50 Matonas - 1930 Nigeria - 1 Kobo - 1973
And the last ones I plan to post for awhile. Seychelles isn't quite Africa but I think that's where eBay classifies it.
Cameroon - 100 Francs - 1971 Chad - 100 Francs - 1972 Gabon - 100 Francs - 1972 Togo - 50 Centimes - 1924
I also had difficulty placing certain islands within the African collection. I now place Madagascar, Reunion, Seychelles, Maldives, etc...In it's own category, Indian Ocean Nations. St. Helena, Falklands, etc. I have in a separate category. Unamed of course because I can't find a proper name for them. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I like regular Portuguese coins too. They don't seem to get much attention from collectors but I think they have neat designs. I'm thinking the ones from the first half of the 20th century. I never see anyone post them here. But that's off topic.
Personally I think if they're in close proximity I add them to the continent, so Madagascar would be Africa and Falklands South America. St. Helena is kind of in the middle of the ocean so that might just be on its own.
Here is a circulated 1924 Togo 1 Franc coin from my collection. I've got a page in a previous passport dedicated to Togo (but not that many Togo coins).
