I just picked up this coin and would appreciate any help with the overton and rarity please. It will be a few days before I can access one of my dealers books as reference and I'm needing to determine this a bit sooner. Thanks in advance.
It could be an Overton 119 because of the base of the "F" in "OF" missing a serif. I believe that is a diagnostic of O-119.
LOL......I'm still learning with these things. Tom or Jim or Treashunt should make the true determination.
Thanks for the replies......now I'm so confused I actually changed my plans today and headed to my local dealer. I've been told 115, 116, 117 and 119 by either people on here or other sources. This can really be a fun puzzle. With my limited knowledge my dealer and I went through his 4th edition overton book. We came up with 116. But I'm not saying it's right or wrong so I'm still looking for input. Without the book to reference I do seem to recall we noted the die break going to the right past the date. The recut "T" in Liberty, the hair almost touching the "1" in the date and a few other things on the obverse. On the reverse I recall 5 berries with no stem on the bottom, something about the beak, tail feathers, left wing and a star led him to believe it was 116. This was all done off my cell phone though so not the greatest images. I ordered a 5th edition book on the spot. Here are hopefully better pics for anyone that wants them. I think the book showed it an R-3 so nothing for a price premium that I'm aware of.
