    Hello everyone.
I am new to this forum but I have been studying and collecting coins for a while now. I am getting the hang of the error coins but still am a bit confused on some. So I have a 1954 S wheat penny with the silhouette of Lincoln's image slightly raised and showing on the reverse as if it were almost lightly punched through the coin. it also has an error on the obverse to where the B and E are connected in the word Liberty. Is this coin anything to look into, or just another common error coin?

You would have to provide pictures. But the error in liberty is called a "BIE cent" and are fairly common in cents from the 1950s. I own some as well and they aren't worth much.

As Bayern1900 stated the BIE type of die break errors of the 1950's are very common almost to the point of being a just novelty. The raised Lincoln on the reverse could be a die clash but, we will need to see the coin to be sure that is what it is.

I will post pictures, but don't think my camera will be detailed enough to pick up the silhouette. Yeah I just looked into the BIE error, pretty common, but I have gone through hundreds of pennies, wheat and memorial pennies, and have not found one with the image showing on the reverse. Thank you and I'll keep researching.

$_14.jpg I don't have the right camera but I found a picture of one that is exactly like mine, but the one I have is in better mint state with the DIE error also. I believe this is called the ghost of Lincoln.

I don't really collect coins to pay for college per say, I just think they are fascinating.

Pretty sure I found a good one! 1990 no s proof Lincoln cent. It is definitely mirrored in the fields and frosted cameo on the points. It is slightly circulated but still in really good shape and detail. This coin is almost twice as thick as almost all my other pennies and the same thickness appr. to a nickel. Very square and sharpe edges with several curly scratches (assuming from polishing). I have researched this coin and I think there is less than 200 known. How much does it cost to have it graded? It will probably only yield a 60 or so grade.
