More old gold back from pcgs I still can't figure out where they got the cleaning details on the 54-c
Latest addition to my collection is Tetricus I & Tetricus II. I loved the portrait of Tetricus I and felt Tetricus II was a bit better then average for him as a whole coin wise. Both these emperors are considered junk in the roman coin world due to poor flans and strikes. Tetricus I (271 - 274 A.D.) Æ Antoninianus O: IMP C TETRICVS P F AVG, radiate and cuirassed bust right. R: VICTORIA AVG, Victory walking left, wreath in right, palm frond in left. Colonia Agrippinensis (Cologne, Germany) mint, 271 A.D. 3g 19mm RIC V, part II, 139 Tetricus II (274 A.D.) AE Antoninianus O: C PIV ESV TETRICVS CAES, radiate, draped bust right. R: SPES AVGG, Spes walking left, holding flower and raising skirt. 2.9g 19mm RIC 270
Absolute knockouts everyone!!! I love the gold, MaineBill! Wingedliberty, Robec has added a new dimension to the AGE's, very beautiful. McBlzr, talk about an amazing purchase/submission! That is one rare 1863-S Dime too! Very impressive stuff y'all! I bought this ole' gal a few days back and am really enjoying the upgrade. The last 1876-CC I had was in VG-F and had some rim damage...yikes.
Picked this up off Heritage this morning. I logged onto Heritage and saw that there was an auction going on. Figured there was no harm in watching the auction as long as I don't bid on anything. I saw a MS66 1899-O CAC Morgan sell for $1,800, and right after another was up for auction. No one was bidding on the coin, so I put in a quick bid of $350, not expecting to win, but I won it! I have no idea why this one sold for $350 and the same coin, which in my opinion, was in worse condition than this one, sold for over $1,800. Not sure how I'm going to afford this. Especially with Heritage charging $50+ for shipping to Canada. I'm going to have to sell off some of my collection to pay for this, but I am still happy with my purchase as every PCGS MS66 1899-O CAC Morgan sold within the past couple months has gone for $500 or more, aside from this one.
Thank you I got lucky as I hadn't even seen the coin before I made the bid. It could have been an MS64 coin in a 66 holder for all I knew With shipping it'll cost at least $400 though.
