Went ahead an turned the coins before I was asked to. Also this is all the pics I have some one sent them to me wanting to sell them.

Your pictures aren't high enough quality to come up with a definitive answer, and these happen to be some of the most counterfeited dollars you could have posted.

In my opinion, the Trade is fake. And because of that I'd be suspicious of the Peace as well. The corner of the image is dark where the mint mark used to be.

Okay, but using only the coin itself as evidence, please explain why you think it's fake.

    Bob,

The key to safely buying raw is to know what you are doing. If you cannot positively identify these (or any other) coins as being genuine, your best bet is to pass no matter the price. Neither are rare (or even scarce) so with little effort you should be able to locate numerous certified specimens that meet whatever standards you've set for yourself. What it really boils down to is what you're willing to risk, and if you'd rather be safe than sorry.

If you can post quality photos of both coins, preferably out of their individual flips, you're likely to get more responses, but as it stands, most any opinion shared will be based upon conjecture and be of little help in achieving your goal.

I will have more better pics guy that has them will be home in a few day an will give me better pics. I have know set type or grade I'm looking to buy. I just buy what ever comes along that I can get a good deal on. That said I would like those coins in the high grades which are better then the few I already have of each of them. I pray that the info I've been getting from here in the past was right because I've turned down some other good coins at good prices because I believe most of the people that reply may know more then me when it comes to fakes. I do see a lot of coins a week but I normally do not sale what I buy.

I haven't looked at the position of the MM or other markers , but I'd like to know why carboni7e thinks it's fake , at 1st glance it looks fine to me . I also think if anyone tells an op his coin is fake he owes that person an explanation as to why it is fake . I notice many people like to yell fake with any unslabbed Trade dollar . While buying a Trade dollar shouldn't be taken without some research it's a disservice to yell fake without an explanation .

So far, no one has given their opinion whether the coins are genuine are not, and I err on the side of caution.
I don't like her left hand. I don't like the dentrils. I think it's a struck counterfeit. It's just my opinion from a low-res image.

IMHO the dentils are fine and so is her hand , I will check the MM location , but my 1st impression it's real , though If buying I'd have checked the whole coin already .

I meant the MM on the Peace.
The MM on the Trade looks o.k. although it seemed a little thin at first glance

What does anyone think the grade is an the value is if we just say they are real for now? Does the trade dollar look dipped to anyone? The guy lives an hour away from me that why I've not seen them in person. We should be meeting sometime next week if all goes ok. Thanks for all the help so far.

I know they use at least 2 sized MM on the '77 Trade Dollar and possibly 3 .

If it was dipped it looks like it was done right and shouldn't affect the price , but it's hard to tell with the given pics . I'd grade her at AU-58 at the lowest and more likely low MS . It's a nice coin .

I'm guessing when you say MM your talking about mint mark on the peace. It is dark in that area so can't tell much about if it was removed or not. I don't see one. Wish I had better pics. I just sent him a massage to take coins out of holders an get me better pics. Sorry if it shows that I'm not a coin pro, I just never use all the abbreviations most use that know more then me use. Thanks

The Trade Dollar looks real to me from the image but I didn't look it up to be sure.
    Looks AU-55 from the image.

I was referring to the lack of one. Dark pics make it impossible to tell if it was altered of not

Yep , I was wondering why the pics were sideways , still you can't say the MM is bad when he gives such lousy pics . All I can say is I wouldn't bid unless he could give me better pics.
Still that's one thing the op has to learn , without decent pics it's best to stay away and if one can't tell if a coin is real or fake buy slabbed from a reputable dealer . I learned the hard way by buying off of bad pictures . Live and learn but if I did a little follow up I could have avoided the lost , but it works the other way too . Many have gotten a great deal by knowing the diagnostics of a coin and buying when everyone was screaming fake . Knowledge is power .
