I listed on ebay... and this guy is telling me its worth about $100 in its current condition retail and wants to know my "best price for a BIN" are they trying to get it off me cheap or is there assessment of value correct. ty in advance. sorry if this seems like a duplicate thread...but it is a different matter all together

Am I correct in assuming that you got it for face value?

It is worth considerably more than $100. More like $400-$750 by my estimate.

Ignore him. You can always take an offer the second time around, if the bill doesn't sell the first time around. Give us the eBay number so we can see your listing.

I don't know about thoses prices, you would need someone building a set, its pretty beat-up, with some tears too

Any time someone is trying to get you to end the auction early, they're looking to score a bargain.

I was thinking how FEW notes are Star notes, and then how only a TINY TINY fraction of notes are mismatched serial numbers...

Multiply those two probabilities together. I don't know about the value, but it must be a one-in-a-million. Does PCGS maintain a record of how many currency "errors" have been graded?

I don't agree with that. I used to make offers all the time if there were no bids. I always tried to be fair, but I certainly didn't want some bidiot who knows squat end up jacking the price out of the universe.

My only complaints about the OP are this:

    1) He should have researched the note more carefully before hastily throwing it up on eBay.

    2) Don't get too greedy IF you got it for face value.

I would believe it to be FAR rarer than one in a million.

I think I saw two $1 star notes listed on eBay right now.

Uhh... I'm on ebay right now and I see way more than two $ 1 star notes.

Sorry, I meant "$1 star note - mismatched serial numbers".

For somebody who commented, "one in a million" was just a figure of speech, not a body count. I would still think it's an extreme rarity. So what's the bidding level on the few that are currently on eBay?

No. I think the OP meant the guy was going to snowball him if he didn't sell it for $100.

I looked on eBay and did not see this note, live or completed... but there are a few of this run that were listed.

I actually posted it here first and then checked ebay to see what people were selling them for and if they had any completed sales...and yes I got it for face
this is how I was thinking. I don't know if the low run size does anything for it
trying to snowball me meaning that he was telling it was worth less than it could potentially be so he could make a profit or get a rare find dirt cheap

So, let me get this straight, if you got it for face, you have to sell it for less than it's worth? Is that right?
