If a coin is sent to PCGS with the Guarantee Resubmission service, is the coin cracked out of its holder, and then graded? So if the coin doesn't upgrade, they just reholder the coin with the same grade?
The reason why I am asking is because I would like to send some coins into the Resubmission service, but I would not like them cracked out of their original holders unless they upgrade.

Reconsideration is correct. I've used it a couple of times.

They actually offer both services. I was just thinking reconsideration fit the OPs needs the best.

Thanks for clearing that up for the OPs sake. I was addressing just the OPs needs. Glad you caught that so he doesn't confuse the 2.

Interesting, I had never heard of the reconsideration service level.

    I think it's a newer service.

And there would need to be a nice gap in price ($200+) between one grade and the next to justify it, IMO. You have to pay a Final Value Fee.
