Well, while checking the reeding on a see through roll of Dimes, I observed a Gold Reed in the middle of the pack and found a Gold Dime; Yawhhhoooo (LOL). Why on Earth would somebody have a Dime gold plated? Wish it was gold toned, but I would venture to say since the reed is gold in color it must have been plated. the plating is worn in some spots, thought some of you would like to see it though.
Why do I always find the crazy ones......... IMG_0080.JPG IMG_0081.JPG IMG_0092.JPG

There is a science experiment that without actually using real gold, uses some household materials that combine and plate a coin with gold color.

That's funny I didn't know about that. The picture I took doesn't show it, but this coin has an extreme high gloss finish to it with a few worn down gold spots, but looks like it was a dipped coin. Does the science project make a high gloss finish? Anyways thought it would be fun to show.
