Think it's worth getting graded then?

    If it's MS 67, then it's worth $265

Okay... (hypothetically), let's say it did come back 67; in what plastic? If NGC a 67RD your estimate is laughably high, and even if PCGS, it is still quite high. Regardless, while your coin is nice, it does not strike me as spectacular, and the reverse spotting takes much away from what it does have going for it. However, if you want to roll the dice, please feel free.

And also, It's for certain not MS67, maybe the obverse is, but that reverse has some issues. more like Ms64ish

And I can see why you would think it would be worth that much, there's an ebay listing asking 275 for a Ms67. Well no! Look at "Completed Listings" not Ask prices, as they are most certainly not accurate. If that's what your looking at.

If PCGS tells you dogs can fly, would you automatically believe it? The point is that PCGS guide is not an absolute, so before spouting off values, it would be wise to look into real life verifiable sales in your assumed/hoped for grade.

Just to help prove the point, here is an example in PCGS plastic that sold for well under your claim.

Never said it'd sell for that! Just said that's the suggested value. I get coins for wayyyy under these values all the time. For example, I got a MS 62 1939 double Monticello the other day for $11

    No?

My sincerest apologies for not realizing a matter-of-fact statement as to a coin's "worth" was really a simple suggestion unconnected to its actual "worth"; silly, silly me.

FWIW, it is not a 67. 64/65 would be more like it. Those spots on the reverse hurt its grade.

That's still pretty good for a 40 year old coin. That I found in circulation!!!

Why are you talking about this on an Error Forum?
