Quit being so anal. It's been called a "penny" for decades if not longer. It's a nickname. Get over it.
No, I'm pretty sure it's a penny. The word is the most common name for the coin, and even the wrappers read "50 pennies". An object can have more than one name.
For common use I agree. But a numismatist should use the correct terms. Such as: -- it's a Doubled Die, not a Double Die -- a cud HAS to involve the rim. -- it's obverse and reverse, not front and back Things like that.
I'll give you my 2 cents worth if I can give you a penny for your thoughts. Awesome coin...picked one up recently myself.
Thanks bdunnse but it don't matter anyway because I don't come on here anymore so you won't have to worry about the wrong terms because I got tired of all the whining and bitching about every little thing I found a different group where people are more respectful its not all of you some of you are pretty cool people and the only reason I'm on here now is my phone tells me when someone responds to a post of mine but like I said you won't have to worry about the wrong terms anymore which I'm sure none of you care anyways so nice knowing you all and farewell
